Selkies are shapeshifters from Welsh folklore. They usually exist as seals, but at night they shed their seal-skins and take the form of beautiful women. If a man finds a selkie's skin at the water's edge and steals it from her, he can keep her as his wife. But if she finds her stolen seal-skin, she will always run back into the sea, her true home...

There are parts of adult life that steal our seal-skins. So many obligations and normalizing forces lead us astray from our true homes, our purest selves. Remember staying up late as a teenager, all alone in your room, figuring out who you were? When you aren't performing for others, when you don't care about anyone's comfort but your own... when you are totally self-embodied, that's who you are.

Through music, I encourage you to set yourself free. Steal back your seal-skin and run into an ocean of freedom, the ocean of music. Dive into the sound-waves and be transported. My only request is that you listen with the ears of total freedom, as a selkie returned to the sea.

I'm Selkie (a.k.a. Kyra, a.k.a. Eden Online), and this is an online home for my music curation.
